On March 12 Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative, MacKenzie Art Gallery, the NFB and University of Regina Department of Film will present a free event, Remembering the Past Looking to the Future, showcasing Saskatchewan women filmmakers to honour the memory of Trudy Stewart (pictured), a well loved Saskatchewan filmmaker (and NSI alumna) who passed away in September 2019. A panel discussion will follow with Elaine Pain, Dianne Ouellette and Janine Windolph.

The lineup includes films made in various styles including animation, experimental and cinema verité.

  • Land of the Free by Dianne Ouellette and Margaret Orr

  • Stories in the Bones by Janine Windolph (NSI IndigiDocs)

The event takes place in the Shumiatcher Theatre at MacKenzie Art Gallery. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the screening starts at 7 p.m.
